“ZONE 88” is a scientific and economic zone dedicated to space industries and advanced technologies. It is located in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm in the Sultanate of Oman. It includes five international projects:
These projects have been designed to enhance the space and technology industry, attract global investments, and promote scientific research to build a sustainable knowledge-based economy in the region.
It’s a project that aims to create an environment to simulate living in space, such as Mars and the Moon, and to study the behavior of astronauts before joining manned space flights, as well as scientists and researchers to conduct their experiments in the space sector, artificial intelligence, and advanced technology.
It is one of the most important sites in the world, established to be a center for commercial investment space launching vehicles. The area attracts international governments and companies specialized in launching spacecraft, as well as preparing the region as a global station for intercontinental mobility.
This center will provide a scientific and practical environment for all types of unmanned vehicles (aerial, ground, and maritime) and its systems. This includes establishing a training school for unmanned aerial vehicles (Drones School) and granting licenses to operators. Additionally, the center aims to create partnerships with specialized international institutions, attract investments in manufacturing all types unmanned vehicles, and facilitate the knowledge and technology transfer to the region.
The Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Testing Area aims to provide facilities for companies and investors to conduct experimental research and tests related to the space industry, artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies.
This Station is used to provide infrastructure for global governments, local companies, and international corporations to place their ground stations in a suitable environment for commercial or scientific purposes.
